Middlesbrough FC Youth Academy

Working with the Middlesbrough senior coaches to gain more knowledge and experience with the academy squad. I coached specifically the under 14 squad, designing, planning and carrying out development training drills. The experience was a valuable one as I developed and honed my own coaching ability working alongside coaches that have developed a very good academy at Middlesbrough with many talented youngsters like; Stewart Downing, James Morrison, Lee Cattermole et al.

University of Sunderland

As well as playing, I assisted in training the team alongside the manager. Training was once a week, and involved general skill development as well as tactics, set piece training, and preparation for the weeks up and coming fixture.

Teesside Athletic JFC

One season as assistant manager and senior coach, duties included planning and carrying out training drills and exercises, scouting, discussing tactics and squad recommendations with manager. The season was successful, not only did we deliver results on the picth but the kids enjoyed themselves and wanted to come back for another season. I base my coaching ability not on results and winning, but on providing the kids with a safe, fun environment that helps them develop as players and as people.

Richmond JSC

Working with 4 Richmond JSC teams (U9, U10, U12, U15). My main goal with the teams is to improve everyone’s footballing technique by at least 20%. Developing both their physical and technical ability. My training focuses on, techniques under pressure, awareness, movement, alongside shooting, passing, heading, control and touch, defending, attacking, team play and all-round football knowledge.
