Don't Over Coach
Keep it simple during games,
emphasize just one or
two goals per half for the players to focus on. Give clear and
concise instructions before the game and during halftime.
Save the coaching for practice. Practice is the time and
place to over emphasize coaching points to prepare players for game
situations. The more exposure to game related situations, the more
prepared players will be during actual games and the more likely they'll
be successful making their own decisions. Besides, players need to
make decisions and mistakes, so they can learn and develop as a
